Against a contemporary Hong Kong shaped by financial precarity, family obligations, and social judgment, writer-director Leung Chuen Yeung’s assured feature debut finds compassion within desperation. Anchored by Suet Ying Chung’s volatile, vulnerable performance, the film asks whether people are inherently bad—or simply worn down by a world that gives them little room to breathe.
