THE GREAT ARCH

An unlikely underdog story set in the world of architecture, THE GREAT ARCH chronicles the remarkable true story of Danish architect Otto von Spreckelsen (Claes Bang), an unknown teacher from Copenhagen whose life changed overnight after winning an international competition to design one of France''s most ambitious modern landmarks. Selected by President François Mitterrand''s visionary Grands Projets initiative, Spreckelsen''s bold design for what would become Paris'' iconic Grande Arche de la Défense thrust him into the center of politics, bureaucracy, and artistic scrutiny. As construction progresses, the idealistic architect finds his uncompromising vision challenged by the realities of power, ego, and national expectation.

More than a biographical drama, THE GREAT ARCH is a compelling meditation on artistic integrity, the cost of ambition, and the enduring relationship between architecture and society. An Official Selection in Cannes'' Un Certain Regard, the film celebrates the triumphs and sacrifices behind creating a monument that would redefine the Paris skyline.
