THE ASSASSIN(S)

Blending historical records with dramatic interpretation, Hur revisits the investigation through the lens of a country shaped by dictatorship, martial law and Cold War paranoia, as well as the lingering consequences of Japanese colonialism and postwar American influence. Propelled by the breakneck conspiratorial energy of JFK and the journalistic tenacity of SPOTLIGHT, the film transforms an unresolved national trauma into an urgent procedural about power, political repression and the dangerous pursuit of truth.
