Three women. Three generations. One name. In SATOKO ALWAYS, acclaimed director Shuichi Okita (THE CHEF OF SOUTH POLAR, THE WOODSMAN AND THE RAIN, A STORY OF YONOSUKE) weaves together the lives of three women named Satoko, each arriving at a turning point. Fifteen-year-old Satoko (Kashun Himeno) transforms her first crush into a story. At 35, Satoko (Kasumi Arimura), a film publicist caught in a stagnant affair, turns to writing after a shocking encounter forces her to reconsider her choices. At 55, Satoko (Hikari Ishida), newly freed from the daily responsibilities of raising three sons, rediscovers a childhood dream of becoming a writer. Separated by age and circumstance, each begins putting her life onto the page, only to find their stories intersecting in unexpected ways.

15歳のサトコ（姫野香旬）は、初恋の想いを物語にする。35歳のサトコ（有村架純）は、映画宣伝の仕事をしながら停滞した不倫関係に囚われていたが、衝撃的な出来事をきっかけに自らの選択を見つめ直し、文章を書き始める。そして55歳のサトコ（石田ひかり）は、3人の息子を育てる日々から解放され、作家になるという幼い頃の夢を再び追い始める。
年齢も境遇も異なる3人は、それぞれの人生を言葉に綴っていく。そしてやがて、彼女たちの物語は思いがけない形で交差していく。
