PARADISE LOST

실낙원

From visionary director Yeon Sang-ho (TRAIN TO BUSAN, THE COLONY) comes a gripping psychological thriller about grief, technology, and the terrifying limits of a mother’s love. After a bus carrying children mysteriously disappears, single mother Ryu So-young (Kim Hyun-joo) is devastated by the loss of her son Sun-woo. With no answers, she turns to augmented-reality technology that allows grieving parents to interact with lifelike recreations of their missing children.

Nine years later, the impossible happens: Sun-woo (Bae Hyun-sung) suddenly returns, now a grown man. But the son standing before So-young is disturbingly different from the idealized child she has preserved through years of simulated memories. As unsettling truths surrounding the disappearance emerge, her carefully constructed reality begins to collapse. Provocative, emotionally charged, and deeply unsettling, PARADISE LOST explores trauma, motherhood, memory, and responsibility while asking whether technology can truly heal grief—or merely transform it into something more dangerous.
