Kore-eda writes, directs, and edits this new adaptation, following the acclaimed 2024 animated film directed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama. Shot in Nikaho City in northern Japan and produced by Daiju Koide’s K2 Pictures, LOOK BACK marks an inspired meeting between one of contemporary manga’s most distinctive voices and one of cinema’s great humanist filmmakers.
