From Koji Shiraishi, the fiendish mind behind J-horror cult classic NOROI: THE CURSE and mock-horror spin-off SADAKO VS. KAYAKO, comes a chilling new descent into found-document terror. Adapted from Sesuji’s viral web novel, KINKI begins with the mysterious disappearance of an occult-magazine editor who had been investigating a disturbing collection of incidents across Japan’s Kinki region.

Missing children, outbreaks of mass hysteria, haunted livestreams, and seemingly disconnected urban legends form an unsettling archive of the unexplained. Freelance writer Chihiro Seno (Miho Kanno) and the editor’s colleague Yūsei Ozawa (Eiji Akaso) begin piecing together the fragments, only to discover that every strange occurrence appears to point toward the same place—and something fundamentally wrong lurking there.

Returning to the darkly cheeky horror style he helped pioneer, Shiraishi transforms recordings, testimony, and rumor into an increasingly sinister puzzle, delivering an unnerving and wickedly entertaining nightmare for the digital age.
